Mrs. Juda Elizabeth Wade Pennington, 92, of Jasper passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the Suwannee Valley Nursing Center in Jasper, following an illness of several months. She was born September 3, 1918, in Anniston, Alabama to Thomas Eugene Wade and Nancy Elizabeth Sparks Wade. She moved to Jasper in 1942 to raise her family and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, W. W. (Billy) Pennington, step-daughter Jeanne Kennedy, and grandson Jeb Kennedy, her parents, four brothers and five sisters.
She leaves behind her beautiful family as her legacy. She is survived by six children, Billy Pennington (Barbara) of Birmingham, James E. Pennington, D.V.M. ( Kathryn), of Melrose, George P. Pennington, M.D., Ph.D. (Jeannie) of Valdosta, Robert Pennington of Jacksonville, Juda Lois Pennington (Rick Culbreath) of Orlando, and Katherine Pennington (Terry Straub) of Tallahassee; step-son Bill Bryan (Marian) of Mill Spring, NC and son-in-law Jim Kennedy of Atlanta; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14th at First United Methodist Church in Jasper, with Reverend Charles Courtoy officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2011, at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, 901 4th St., N.W., Jasper.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 1298, Jasper, FL 32052.
